IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

  • A big thank you to our parents and families as we navigate uncharted waters! You have been amazing through this challenging time! It truly takes a village to raise children, and we are grateful to be a part of your village.
  • Our teachers and staff members continue to raise the bar in order to continue educating our students! Our teachers have been scheduling video conferences as well as posting videos! We encourage parents and students to take advantage of these opportunities and participate! Since public schools are included in the list of Essential Businesses and Operations, teachers are permitted to go to school to facilitate and plan eLearning activities as long as they practice social distancing.
  • The closure was extended by our governor with a tentative reopening date of April 8. Since that falls during our Spring Break, we will reopen on Monday, April 13. We will continue to make learning activities available just like meals. We strongly encourage you to take advantage of both! Our teachers and office staff are available if you have questions or need help. Please don’t hesitate to call or email.
  • We will continue to provide meals throughout the closure. Please visit our website (www.cel61.com) for more information and locations for food pickup.  Every student is eligible for free meals (breakfast & lunch), and it’s not too late to take advantage. We ask that you email office@cel61.com or call 217-732-4136 to let us know so we can prepare enough food, but we will not turn anyone down. Leave a voicemail if no one answers.
  • We are blessed to have such amazing students, parents, and teachers. We are proud to be Panthers! Let us know what you need and how we can support you. Our number one concern is the health and safety of our students, staff, & the entire community. In an effort to protect yourself and others, please obey the Stay at Home Order.

LEARNING RESOURCES:

  • Take a Virtual Field Trip
  • Please consider having your students make cards for nursing home residents. Simply drop them off at any of our food sites, and we will deliver to the nursing homes.
  • Click here for a number of math activities at each student’s grade level!
  • Listen to your favorite teachers and staff read books at our Happily Ever Panther website.
  • Audible is FREE for kids during this time!  Students can find books to download and listen to them!

Related Services

We want to inform you that we have made some changes in our district to be
compliant with the recent changes through HB3586 (legislation).

If your child receives a related service, like speech, occupational therapy, physical
therapy, counseling through the school, or other related services, service logs are
available upon request.

Health Requirements

All 5th-8th grade students interested in participating in an extra-curricular activity
must have a current physical on file in the office. Summer is a great time to make
sure your student is up-to-date on their health requirements.
